Back To School Crochet & Craft Projects To Try

I always look forward to school starting, but if you are like us, it seems to sneak up on us every year. All of a sudden the store displays are full of school supplies and I find myself staring at them like they are totally foreign. I do love school supplies and stash them away for… no apparent reason other than I just love them.

I also love seasonal things and saving cute projects to make some day. Here are lots of great crochet patterns and some other crafts I really like.

Crochet Patterns

Pencil Wall Hanging: This banner by “Heart Hook Home” would be adorable by a teacher’s door. It would be cute as a growth chart too! Clip pix to it to mark the dates.

Pencil Jar Cozy: I am adding this to my list of keepers for Teacher Appreciation Week. It is so cute and looks like it would whip up quick enough to mass produce for teachers.

Teachers Take Note Gift Set: What a unique set! This is a paid pattern by “Sweet Potato 3” and totally worth it because you get all of these pieces. The apple is my favorite.

Journal Pen Pouch: I could totally use one of these pouches by “Blackstone Designs”. This past year I have been learning to use a bullet journal and this would be so helpful.

Crayons Are Cute Bag: I would love one of these bags by “Divine Debris” for our coloring supplies or library books. So unique and adorable.

Pencil Shaped Pencil Case: How clever is this pencil case by “Nicki’s Homemade Crafts”. There’s a great tutorial too.

Lightsaber Pencil Case: For all the Star Wars fans, “Debi Dearest” has designed this unique case.

Back to School Pencil Case: This pencil case by “Stitches N Scraps” is two projects in one! You crochet the case and then she shows you how to use the markers to decorate it any way you want. I love that!

Fox Pencil Case: Oh my heck this case by Love, Life, Yarn is fantastic and perfect for boys and girls…of all ages. It would be cute for crochet supplies too!

Unicorn Backpack: Whip up this adorable backpack by Love, life, yarn for little ones to carry their own things or to use for school.

Pencil-Shaped Pencil Case: I think this case by “One Dog Woof” Is the perfect case for my colored pencils or to keep in my purse.

Amigurumi Backpack: This little guy by “One Dog Woof” makes me smile. Isn’t it adorable? LOVE IT!

Building Blocks Backpack: Lego lovers and kids of all ages will love this backpack by Moogly.

C2C Tote Bag: I have LOVED seeing all of the incredible creations in C2C (Corner 2 corner) crochet. “Winding Road Crochet” has so many cute ones that I might have to give it a try.

School Bus Kuwaii Cuddler: I LOVE every cute design “3am Grace Designs” creates including this cheery bus.

Locker Pockets: I have always liked my work spaces to be organized and that includes lockers when I was in school. I wish I had a set of pockets to hang like these. Both designs are easy to make.

Keep It Handy Organizer

Apple of My Eye Apple Cozy: Start the year off with an apple for the new teacher with this cute cozy by “The Stitchin Mommy”.

Wolf Pencil Holder: Keep this little guy close and he’ll hold a number of things for you. This is a paid pattern by Blackstone Designs and she has several animals available.

Cricut Projects

DIY Chalkboards and Whiteboards: These simple whiteboards and chalkboards by “5 Little Monsters” are a brilliant idea. Cut them out and stick them up anywhere. Great for reminders, thoughts and celebrations.

Customize a Pencil Case: Underground Crafter does a great job showing how to personalize pencil cases. I like writing my kids names on all of the stuff I send to school so this is perfect.
