Weekly Wash #22: Bee Square

Growing up, my mom always had “trivets” we used under warm dishes. Most of ours were ones she had sewn because she owned a fabric store and is a wonderful seamstress. I often wish I had cute trivets to use instead of stained hot pads.

A couple of years ago I designed a “Spring Sampler” blanket made from individual blocks. I have always thought their thick texture would make nice trivets. This bee is a small version of the bee section of that blanket.
