Goose Sizing Help & Info
I often get asked if my patterns will fit different sizes of geese, so I created this chart with measurements for some of the most popular goose sizes. Now you can compare your goose to the different sizes and see which Snappy Tots patterns might work for yours!

A few things to know:
- 23” goose patterns: Many of my 23” patterns will also fit a 28” cement goose by going up one hook size and adding a few rounds for length.
- 17” & 19” geese: Many of those same 23” patterns can be adjusted for the 17” and 19” geese by going down 1–2 hook sizes and leaving out a few rounds for length. Some patterns may need a little more adjusting, and I LOVE helping you figure out the fit! I also have patterns made especially for the 17”/19” geese.
- 7” desk geese: My original 7” goose patterns were designed for my crocheted desk goose, before the little 7” plastic geese were available. Most can be adapted for the plastic goose by using one hook size smaller and leaving out a few rounds as needed.
And remember—these are starting points! Yarn, tension, hook size and the shape of your individual goose can all affect the finished fit. If you need help adjusting one of my patterns for your goose, please ask me. I’m happy to help!
I have several free goose patterns on the blog already, with more being added all the time. And starting Sunday, the new freebie sites will include even more sizes—including the minis!
