Free Pattern: Full Goose Wigs

My goose wigs have been a lot of fun! In case you want a fuller wig, here it is! You can make the ringlets any size by increasing the ch 30. You could also add more ringlets around, or additional layers, as shown below.

Full Wig for 23” and 28” Goose

Hair

• 23” use an H hook; 28” use an I hook
• This starts by creating two strands of ringlets that will end up on one side of the head.

1. With a hook and worsted weight yarn (Sample: Yellow), [ch 30, 2sc in the 2nd ch from hook, *sk 1, 3sc in the next ch*, repeat to end of chain], repeat from [ to ]. 

2. Sl st in the top of the first ringlet to pull the two together. Ch 1, 2sc in the same st.

3. Ch 1, turn, 2sc in the same st, 2sc in the next st. (4sts)

4. Ch 1, turn, 2sc in the same st, sc 2, 2sc in the last st. (6sts)

5. Ch 1, turn, sc in the same st and in each st across. 

6. Repeat the previous row for an additional 4 rows. 

7. Ch 1, turn, sc2tog, sc 2, sc2tog. (4sts)

8. Ch 1, turn, sc2tog, sc2tog. (2sts)

9. [Ch 30, 2sc in the 2nd ch from hook, *sk 1, 3sc in the next ch*, repeat to end of chain, sl st in the hair piece], repeat from [ to ]. Turn the piece to work into the main hair piece as needed.

10. This step creates bangs across the front of the wig. *ch 4, sl st in the next spot on the wig*, repeat across the wig.

The wig can be complete at this time or more ringlets can be added across the side, back, and side. If this is enough, finish off and weave in ends. For more ringlets, continue to step 11.

11. This step adds extra loops on the side of the wig, above the first two ringlet strands. [Ch 30, 2sc in the 2nd ch from hook, *sk 1, 3sc in the next ch*, repeat to end of chain, sl st in the hair piece above the first ringlets], repeat from [ to ]. Turn the piece to work into the main hair piece as needed.

12. Working across the back long edge of the hair piece, divide the edge into 4. Sl st in the first spot.  [Ch 30, 2sc in the 2nd ch from hook, *sk 1, 3sc in the next ch*, repeat to end of chain, sl st in the hair piece], repeat from [ to ] in each of the next 3 spots.
13. Repeat step 11 to add more ringlets on the remaining edge.

Finish off and weave in ends. 

Options for placing the wig on your goose:

• Chin Ties: With the same size hook and worsted weight yarn to match the goose (Sample: White), sl st into a st on the inside of the flat middle piece, behind one ringlet. Ch 40 (ch 50 for 28” goose). Finish off and tie a knot in the end of the chain. Repeat for the opposite side.
• Adhesive Dots: Lately I have tried using these on the top, center of the goose head and I really like them! I have also used Velcro dots and they work great too! Both are a way to add a wig without having chin ties or elastic straps.
