Inner Circle (optional): I stuffed my hat and added a circle to cover the inside of the hat. This helped the hat sit on top of the goose’ head.
1. With an H hook, attach matching yarn to the ridge created on the inside of the hat from step #9. Ch 1, *sc 4, sc2tog*, repeat to end of round, sl st to join. (25sts)
2. Ch 1, *sc 3, sc2tog*, repeat to end of round, sl st to join. (20sts)

4. Ch 1, *sc2tog*, repeat to end of round, sl st to join. (5sts) Finish off, leaving a long tail for closing the circle.
With a yarn needle, use the yarn tail to weave in and out of the remaining sts. Pull to close and secure the yarn.
Chin Strap
Fold the hat in half to find the placement for the ties. With an I hook and ww yarn (turqua in sample), attach the yarn to an inside loop (so it doesn’t show on the outside of the hat).
Ch 30. Finish off and tie a knot in the end of the chain. Repeat for the opposite side.
Flower
2.5” across
1. With an H hook and ww yarn, start with a magic circle of 5sts (or preferred method for starting a circle of 5 sc sts), join and pull closed. (5sts)
2. Ch 1, 2sc in each st to end of round, sl st to join. (10sts)
3. *Ch 2, (dc, tr,) in same st, (tr, dc, ch 2, sl st) in next st, sl st in next st*, repeat to end of round, sl st to join. Finish off and weave in ends.
With a yarn needle and matching yarn, sew the middle of the flower to the hat.
