Crochet: Square Top Beanie
I love square top hats and wanted a textured one for my grandson. I love how they turned out and my testers had fun making several each too (see their samples below). They whip up quickly and are easy enough for beginners with basic crochet skills too.
As with all snappy patterns, you will be able to use this pattern over and over because it includes lots of sizes and options. Add braids or large pompoms, make it a rounded top or a purse to match.

Materials Yarn: Small amounts of worsted weight yarn in color(s) of choice. Crochet Hooks: H, I, J Miscellaneous: yarn needle Sizes: Baby-6mths, 6-18mths, 2-4 yrs, 5- Preteen, Teen-Adult
Gauge With H hook: 4” = 3.5 bobble repeats, 13.5 hdc sts, 12.5 rows in pattern With I hook: 4” = 3.5 bobble repeats, 13.5 hdc sts, 11.5 rows in pattern With J hook: 4” = 4 bobble repeats, 12 hdc sts, 13.5 rows in pattern
