Free Pattern: Heavy Duty Cloths

When spring gets close I am always ready to start scouring my house. I stock up on cleaning supplies. This year I decided to make some extra strong cloths and scrubbers to stand up to the spring cleaning demands.

This actually came about because of a headband. Yep, a headband. I was making one for a friend’s birthday and as I worked the cluster stitch I started envisioning a dishcloth. My crazy mind does strange things in the middle of the night. I sat the band down… still haven’t finished it… and grabbed two skeins of my new favorite yarn (I still could squeeze a red heart person for finally coming up with this wonderful “Scrubby Smoothie” stuff!). By the way, thanks to Red Heart Yarns for sending me this yarn. Even if they hadn’t I would be driving to the store 30 minutes away and getting it because it is truly marvelous.

After working that blue guy down there I LOVED it… but also realized not everyone’s hands were up to working with two strands of cotton. It can be a tiny bit of a workout. So I played around with an H hook, one strand and some different chain lengths until I came up with an equivalent “regular” one.

Of course, we needed a little super power scrubber dude too, so say hello to the orange guy.

I hope this trio helps with all of your cleaning needs. Please share a cleaning pic with me to give me some inspiration to get going too and add #snappytots so I will see it.
