Weekly Wash #15: Daisy Hanging Towel

Each year I do a few dishcloth swaps with amazing people I have met online. It is one of the funnest parts of my year to receive all of the cloths from across the United States and seeing what they created. As part of these swaps I design a special cloth for the event. This one is from last year’s swap. I love it so much that I wanted to share it with you all.

The daisy is made in two pieces with a snap between the top two petals. This way the flowers can be snapped around a towel bar so it will hang where you need it.

The crochet pattern for this towel is available for free below.
A downloadable, ad-free pattern that includes the instructions and all pictures is also available to purchase from my Ravelry Shop.

18. Repeat steps 12-17 three more times.

Repeat steps 1-18 to create another complete flower.

Stack the two flowers on top of each other. Cut a long piece of white yarn. With a yarn needle and yarn piece, seam the two layers of the petals together all the way around. If you will be adding a snap between two of the petals to use as a hanging, leave one petal unsewn.

Hanger version: With a sewing needle and matching thread, sew each piece of the snap to the inside of each petal piece of the unsewn petal. This petal should be pointed straight up when the flower is sewn to the cloth.

Assembly

Choose one short end to be the top of the piece. This edge will not be visible when flower is sewn in place.

Attach a piece of matching yarn to the right corner of this edge. Use a yarn needle to weave in and out of the top edge. Slightly pull the yarn to pull the top edge together until it is not as wide as the flower.

With a yarn needle and matching yarn, attach each top corner and middle of the cloth to the flower.
