Northern Utah has been changing colors for a few weeks and the trees are a beautiful golden yellow. There are so many wonderful golden yellow yarns available and I always wonder which ones people use. When I saw A Crocheted Simplicity’s “Knot Knit Slouch“, I fell in love with the color and decided to ask Jennifer what she used. This beautiful hat was made with Lion Brand Vanna’s Choice in Mustard.
I became obsessed with yellow yarns and took a poll to found out people’s favorite fall-ish yellow yarns. After hundreds of responses, I made a list of the most popular ones and headed to the yarn store.
Of course, I had to try them out. My “Quick Ridges Beanie” turned out very pretty made from Vanna’s Choice Mustard. It is soft and a nice weight. I bought it on sale for $2.99 from JoAnns and used less than a skein for this beanie.

I personally prefer yellow in nature because of clashes with my skin tone. But I do make it for others that it looks good on. I really hadn’t thought about all the different shades. But thank you because now I know Lion Brand Heartland will be the one I use the most now. Enjoy the changing seasons and the beauty it brings.
