Yearlong, seasonally presents are some of my favorite things to give for Christmas presents. A few years ago I gave several family members a mini “Happy New Year” flag and flag holder with a note letting them know they would be getting a new flag each month. It was a lot of fun and now when I see those flags changing at their homes it makes me smile.

So, last year I decided to do a similar idea with my yearlong “Seasonally Snappy” event where we crochet a new, extra special project. Each month I designed a new flag for the group.

This event also includes a special “add-on” piece just for members that usually goes along with the first project of the year (like a bag) they can switch out each month. These add on patterns aren’t available to purchase separately until the next year.

Since each month was different I designed a special swag to go with their flags or can be used separately. I really enjoyed each project and some of them turned out to be one of my most favorite designs ever.

The Swags

I am in the process of adding the swag patterns to my Ravelry and Etsy shops. They are sold separately because that is how they released AND they are cheaper this way for those who want just a flag OR a swag pattern.

As the swag patterns are available to purchase I will add them to the months below. I LOVE how the swags dress up the flags and wanted a place to show the before and after pix of the flags. The flags by themselves are great and don’t “have” to have the added swag. It is up to you.

Note: If you participated in this event in 2023 you will be getting an email sometime before 11/1/24 with a special code to add these to your library. This is great in case you forgot to download some of the patterns during the event.

Designer Favorite! Of all of the flags I have made over the years, this one is my favorite. Everything came together beautifully and the butterflies added a wonderful pop of color. August’s patterns include sunflowers and butterflies, two of my grand daughter’s favorite things.
