March Crochet Pack

About the Patterns

The pattern for the main “Snappy Organizer”, which includes January is available for free at this link, plus there are links to the monthly sets (posted on the 10th of each month for the next month). If you would like to work ahead, the packs of all of the monthly patterns are available to purchase.

March Crochet Patterns

These are designed to be used with the “Snappy Organizer”.

Materials and Details

  • Yarn: less than 50 yards of each of green, purple, blue, turquoise, yellow, orange, red, white
  • Crochet Hook: H (5mm)
  • Miscellaneous: Yarn needle, 2 large snaps to match the calendar

Tips

  • Numbers at the beginning of each line may refer to steps and not indicate number of rows.
  • Stitch count remains the same unless noted at end of row.

Directions

Shamrocks (make 2)

1. With an H hook and green yarn, start with a magic circle of 6 sts (or preferred method for starting a circle of 6 sc sts), pull closed and sl st to join. (6sts)

2. Ch 8, hdc in 3rd ch from hook, sc 3, sl st 2. Sl st in same st on circle. 

3. *Ch 4, (tr, hdc) in next st, (hdc, tr, ch 3, sl st) in next st*, repeat 2 more times. Sl st in base of stem. Finish off and weave in ends. Repeat for second shamrock and set aside.

Clouds (make 2)

1. With an H hook and white yarn, start with a magic circle of 6 sts (or preferred method for starting a circle of 6 sc sts), pull closed and sl st to join. (6sts)

2. Ch 4, (tr, hdc) in same st, (hdc, tr, ch 3, sl st) in next st, *ch 4, (tr, hdc) in next st, (hdc, tr, ch 3, sl st) in next st*, repeat to end of round. Finish of, leaving a long yarn tail for sewing to the end of the rainbow. Repeat for second cloud and set aside.

Rainbow

1. With an H hook and purple yarn, ch 9, sc in the 2nd ch from hook, sc 3, 2sc in the next ch, sc 3. (9sts)

2. Change to blue yarn. Ch 1, turn, sc in the same st, sc in the next st, 2sc in the next st, sc 3, 2sc in the next st, sc 2. (11sts)

3. Change to turquoise yarn. Ch 1, turn, sc in the same st, sc 3, 2sc in the next st, sc in the next st, 2sc in the next st, sc 4. (13sts)

4. Change to green yarn. Ch 1, turn, sc in the same st, sc in the next st, 2sc in the next st, sc 7, 2sc in the next st, sc 2. (15sts)

5. Change to yellow yarn. Ch 1, turn, sc in the same st, sc 3, 2sc in the next st, sc 5, 2sc in the next st, sc 4. (17sts)

6. Change to orange yarn. Ch 1, turn, sc in the same st, sc in the next st, 2sc in the next st, sc 5, 2sc in the next st, sc 5, 2sc in the next st, sc 2. (20sts)

7. Change to red yarn. Ch 1, turn, sc in the same st, sc 5, 2sc in the next st, sc 6, 2sc in the next st, sc 6. (22sts) Finish off and weave in ends.

With a yarn needle and the yarn tail from the cloud, sew one cloud to each end of the rainbow, overlapping the edge as much as needed to cover the full edge. Turn the cloud as needed so it will be wide enough.

“MARCH” Tiles
Follow instructions from the main “snappy organizer” pattern to make the tiles for this month.

Assembly

  • Attach the tiles and shamrocks to the calendar with brads or desired items.
  • Snaps: Center the rainbow over the snaps already sewn to the organizer to find placement. Sew two coordinating snap pieces to the back of the rainbow so they line up with the snaps on the organizer.
