Weekly Wash #20: Buggy Scrubbers

These are designed to slip over jumbo net scrubbers. I understand these jumbo scrubbers might not be available everywhere so I will be releasing a smaller version to slip over the smaller net scrubbers too.

I also have included instructions for a “no net” version where you will sew two crocheted layers together instead of leaving an opening for a net scrubber.

You could also slip these over a rock if you found the right sized rock.

Buggy Scrubbers Pattern

The crochet pattern for these scrubbers is available for free below.
A downloadable, ad-free pattern that includes the instructions and all pictures is also available to purchase from my Ravelry Shop.

Materials

  • Yarn: Bee – 75 yards yellow yarn, 75 yards black yarn, small amounts of red, and white yarn; Ladybug – 75 yards red yarn, 75 yards black yarn, small amounts of orange, and white yarn
Yarn note: Use cotton yarn for scrubbers. I suggest Lily Sugar N Cream. Acrylic yarn, such as Red Heart Super Saver, is better for rock covers that are going to be outside.
  • Crochet Hook: H (5mm)
  • Miscellaneous: Yarn needle for weaving in ends, 2 small black buttons for eye, sewing needle, black thread, large 4” net scrubber. I used these scrubbers that I picked up at my dollar store: https://lolaproducts.com/products/jumbo-plastic-mesh-scourer
