Years ago my mom gave me a bunch of handmade snowflake ornaments made from thread. I still have them on my Christmas tree each year.
There are many wonderful patterns for crocheted snowflakes, from very simple to elaborate. I was having a hard time finding one that was easy to follow so I asked my friend Kristine from “Ambassador Crochet” if she would design a simple snowflake pattern for our ornament cal.
I love this pattern and added it to this year’s “Countdown to Christmas Calendar“. It works up quickly and is simple to make. I used regular worsted weight yarn, but sport weight or thread could also be used for a variety of sizes.
MATERIALS
Yarn: Worsted or sport weight in white or light blue
Crochet Hook: Size G or H
Miscellaneous: Yarn needle
Directions: Follow directions for making “Crocheted Snowflake” by Ambassador Crochet.
Hanger: With G hook and matching yarn, sl st in a st at top of one arm of the snowflake. Ch 10, sl st in same st on snowflake. Finish off and weave in ends.
