Hi Seasonally Snappy friends! In July, I posted a quick and easy road trip pillow and blanket pattern and checked in with you during our road trip. Unfortunately, I was unable to finish mine because I got food poisoning our Second to last day and got very sick. I will be finishing up my samples and sending you an update with those pictures as soon as possible.
I am moving those comments here to clean up our event page and make it easier to find the information over there.
You can get the pattern below or from our vault and see the post below if you missed it.
I would like to take you with us on an adventure. What do you need to do? You CAN check here each day, starting Friday by noon mt… and YES I WILL BE ON TIME. This one doesn’t take extra help to make these posts… they might be from my table in my pjs, but they will be on time!
Friday: here we go! The fun begins! PATTERN DOWNLOAD: Road Trip Pillow and Blanket

Materials Needed:
-
- Yarn: This is a GREAT project for using odds and ends of yarn. (Just WAIT until you see the yarn I will be using! It will be whatever Hayden puts in a garbage bag for me to choose from… a different yarn each day. 🤭🫣🤪)
Blanket: 1500 yards worsted weight yarn for a 45” x 52” blanket
Pillow: 250 yards worsted weight yarn for a 12″ x 12″ pillow

- Crochet hook: J hook (6mm)
-
- Custom: Almost any yarn and appropriate hook could be used for this project.
So pack your comfy clothes, a jacket, a drink and snacks.. we always need snacks on a trip. Mr. Snappy promises to not tell too many dad jokes and Buster’s social skills are improving.
If you are going to be busy this weekend, no worries. I will leave the videos up on the event page for awhile.
Update
I will be finishing up my samples and posting pix as soon as I can. If you are making the pillow, here is how I will be finishing mine:
Pillow Assembly: Fold piece in half with right sides together and matching beginning and ending rows. With a yarn needle and yarn tail, sew the layers together across two edges. Leave the third edge open for now. Turn the pillow right side out. Stuff the pillow. Use a yarn needle and matching yarn to sew the final edge together.
Monday
Day 4: I got food poisoning and won’t be doing a video tonight but wanted to show you the next color choice. So… should I do another stripe of the speckled or straight to the blue? Hayden said we can decide.
in case you missed my message, I got food poisoning and was unable to finish the pillow. We did decide to do speckle next and then blue. as soon as I have it done I will share pictures …and hope to see your creations too.

Sunday
Day 3: next yarn
Saturday
Day 2: next yarn and a tip
Friday
The fun begins! We are on our way to Island Park, thirty minutes outside Yellowstone. Be gathering your supplies, download the pattern (click here or above or look in the vault).

We have arrived. We are near Henry’s Lake in Idaho. It’s such a beautiful area.
Lots of sites have a flamingo but not ours! So I called the office to find out why…well a group of air streamers (the silver pill looking ones)… are meeting here and they each get a flamingo at their site. Plus they brought their own masseuse. I just want the flamingo. 🤭
