Tripping With Crochet

A Cup of Joe and Off We Go

While preparing for a long trip in the car, I made a list of things to pack. At the top is always my work necessities, including a project bag. I thought it would be fun to share some of my list with you through a mix of free and paid patterns, plus links to other things.

Please check out these fun things while enjoying your “cup of joe” and then off we go with our day and week.

A. Chunky Slippers, by Crochet Patterns by Jennifer.

Shoes and I aren’t the best of friends so I rarely wear them and never in the car. My feet often get cold so I am always in search of wonderful slippers. These look squishy soft and quick to make.

B. Daisy Bag, by I’m Hooked.

The right size bag is always a must and I never seem to have enough. I think I might have to make this in snappy colors with a white background. How cute!

C. Chevron Love Car Seat Blanket, by String With Style

We always need a blanket in the car, especially on long trips. Small-ish lap ones are just right. This one is brilliant for little ones so they won’t keep loosing it. Too bad our 7 year old has outgrown this.

D. The Fantastic Hatchtastic Bag, by Hatch-ed With Love

This hobo style bag has a coin purse too! I can think of many things would be great for, including extra yarn (yes, I take extra yarn because I never know what inspiration I will get). The designer says it will hold 6 skeins!

E. Hook Around the World, by Silverdragon Crafts & Critters

What a clever idea! There are lots of tablet cover patterns available but this one has a place for hooks plus is super cute! The stitch pattern  looks like polka dots.

F. Vanilla Bean Soap, by Udderly Unique

Whether to use on the trip or as a gift for those you see, handmade soap is a great choice. These beautiful ones are only $3 a bar!

G. Grumpy Octopus Coffee Cup Cozy, by Twinkie Chan

Everything Twinkie Chan is always wonderful, including these coffee cozies. I have never quite understood the need for cozies, until this last trip when I couldn’t find a little cardboard sleeve. I will be keeping a cute cozy in my purse from now on.
