There’s something really cool about pirates and we are all big fans at our house. We often go geocaching and sometimes even dress as pirates and use a treasure map.
The following patterns are on sale to celebrate National Pirate Day! Sale ends 9/22/14. Use coupon code PIRATE when checking out of my ravelry shop and save 40% these four patterns.
The first pirate piece I designed was “Pirate Khyler’s Hooded Blanket“, named after a friend’s little boy. I was happy to see this turn out how I’d hoped and the little parrot is one of my all time favorite designs. It would be cute on a hat or bag too.
About that same time, my son also loved watching a kid’s pirate show on tv. I made these two hats, both included in the “Jake and Lizzy” pattern, for him and his friends to wear.
Next, I thought it would be fun to make a Baby Pirate Cocoon. This is one of my favorites and I plan to make a few more in this series.
Of course we also needed a pirate hat, snappy style. Part of my “beach kids” hats, “Zach” is ready for the sun and takes his parrot with him too.
