Free Pattern: Hide Your Neck Cowl

Two years ago…wow, time has flown by…I designed a slouchy beanie to “Hide Your Hair“. It is fun and easy to make.

I like matching sets and after making another beanie from that pattern, I decided that the repeated section would make a great cowl! I hope you will love it too.

  3. Change to Rouge yarn. Ch 2, dc in space between posts below, 2dc between each dc cluster from previous round, forming a V shape, sl st to join.
  4. Change to Petal Pink yarn. Ch 2, dc in space between posts below, 2dc between each dc cluster to end of round, sl st to join.

  8. Repeat previous round.

  9. Change to Denim yarn. Ch 2, dc in space between posts below, 2dc between each dc cluster to end of round, sl st to join.

  10. Change to White yarn. Ch 2, dc in space between posts below, 2dc between each dc cluster to end of round, sl st to join.

  11. Change to Rouge yarn. Ch 2, dc in space between posts below, 2dc between each dc cluster to end of round, sl st to join.

  12. Change to Paradise yarn. Ch 2, dc in space between posts below, 2dc between each dc cluster to end of round, sl st to join.

  13. Change to Denim yarn. Ch 2, dc in space between posts below, 2dc between each dc cluster to end of round, sl st to join.

Add additional rounds if desired.

  1. Ch 1, sc in each st to end of round. Finish off and weave in ends.

I prefer beginning with a sc foundation chain. Here is a great how-to video: https://www.mooglyblog.com/foundation-single-crochet-fsc/

You may start with a regular chain instead if preferred. This creates a slightly different edge and not as stretchy (you really will like the other way if you give it a try). Start with same amount of chains as listed above, then sl st in last ch from hook to join in a loop. Ch 1, sc in each st to end of round, then sl st to join.
