Free Pattern: Little Heart Stuffie

Hearts are cute year-round. Sit some on a shelf, tie one to a teddy or leave as a surprise for a loved one. They are quick and easy to make and are cute plain or with buttons, ribbons or a pin attached.

Stuffed Hearts Crochet Pattern

Use a variety of yarn weights and hooks sizes for different sizes of hearts.

Red Heart (a little skinnier)

Materials and Details

  • Worsted weight yarn
  • G Crochet Hook
  • Yarn needle, small amount of stuffing
  • Measurement: 3″ x 2.5″

1. With a G hook and worsted weight yarn, start with a magic circle of 6 sts (or preferred method for starting a circle of 6 sc sts), place marker for working in the round.

2. Sc in each stitch to end of round. (6sts)  

3. *2sc in next st, sc 2*, repeat once. (8sts)

4. *2sc in next st, sc 3*, repeat once. (10sts)

5. *2sc in next st, sc 4*, repeat once. (12sts)

6. *2sc in next st, sc 3*, repeat to end of round. (15sts)

7. *2sc in next st, sc 4*, repeat to end of round. (18sts)

8. *2sc in next st, sc 5*, repeat to end of round. (21sts)

9. *2sc in next st, sc 6*, repeat to end of round. (24sts)

10. This step starts to form the first bump. Sc 6, sk 12, sc 6. Note: After skipping the 12 sts, work the next sc a little snug to prevent a gap from forming.

11. *sc2tog, sc 4*, repeat to end of round. Lightly stuff heart.

12. *sc2tog, sc 3*, repeat to end of round. Finish off, leaving a tail for pulling sts closed.

13. With yarn needle and yarn tail, weave in and out of remaining sts. Pull to close. Secure yarn tail.

Attach yarn to a remaining st from round 9 on the outer edge of the heart. Sc in each st to end of round. (11sts)

Repeat steps 11-14.

 

Pink Heart (a little wider)

Materials and Details

  • Worsted weight yarn
  • H Crochet Hook
  • Yarn needle, small amount of stuffing
  • Measurement: 3″ x 3.5″

1. With an H hook and worsted weight yarn, start with a magic circle of 6 sts (or preferred method for starting a circle of 6 sc sts), place marker for working in the round.

2. Sc in each stitch to end of round. (6sts)  

3. *2sc in next st, sc*, repeat to end of round. (9sts)

4. *2sc in next st, sc 2*, repeat to end of round. (12sts)

5. *2sc in next st, sc 2*, repeat to end of round. (16sts)

6. *2sc in next st, sc 3*, repeat to end of round. (20sts)

7. *2sc in next st, sc 4*, repeat to end of round. (24sts)

8. Sc in each st to end of round.

9. *2sc in next st, sc 5*, repeat to end of round. (28sts)

10. This step starts to form the first bump. Sc 7, sk 14, sc 7. Note: After skipping the 14 sts, work the next sc a little snug to prevent a gap from forming.

11. *sc2tog, sc 5*, repeat to end of round. Lightly stuff heart. (12sts)

12. *sc2tog, sc 2*, repeat to end of round. (9sts)

13. *sc2tog, sc*, repeat to end of round. (6sts) Finish off, leaving a tail for pulling sts closed.

14. With yarn needle and yarn tail, weave in and out of remaining sts. Pull to close. Secure yarn tail.
