Little projects like this are ones I like to keep on hand (or pinned). It makes a cute applique for beanies, headbands, hand towels, bags and more. It also would be a nice pin, the perfect handmade touch for a gift basket or package.
When I planned the “Countdown to Christmas Calendar“ I asked for ornament suggestions. Several people suggested holly and berries so I searched for an ornament that would be simple and the size we needed. This pattern by Tera of Trifles N Treasures was part of our ornament cal 2 years ago. It is still my favorite. I LOVE how the berries are made. Totally genius! This is super quick and easy, making it a great little embellishment for packages, candles, headbands and hats.
MATERIALS
Yarn: Worsted weight in green and red
Crochet Hook: Size G (pattern calls for a smaller hook, but I chose to use a G hook)
Miscellaneous: Yarn needle
Directions: Follow directions for making “Holly Sprig” by Trifles N Treasures.
I made an extra leaf and attached it to the back of the leaf pair.
Hanger: With G hook and green yarn, sl st in back of top berry. Ch 10, sl st in same st behind berry. Finish off and weave in ends.
